Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Two-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Starring: Shia LaBeoufMegan Fox Director: Michael Bay

Pure. Popcorn. Entertainment. That’s an exact classification of director Michael Bay’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Think of Transformers 1 on crack. In other words, this sequel took all of the extreme elements that made fans love the first movie and increased them exponentially. The action is nonstop, with battles and explosions from start to finish. The camera (without any subtlety) exploits Megan Fox’s hotness to the max. As if she weren’t enough, a new sex kitten (Isabel Lucas) is thrown into the equation. Shia LaBeouf is as charismatic as ever, and fills the starring role with ease. And then there’s the humor. Sam’s parents (Kevin Dunn and Julie White)provided some semi-raunchy laugh-out-loud moments in the first movie, but now they take it to the next level. Sometimes it seems like they are trying a little too hard, but it is still hilarious. (more…)

This TV was just recently released as of the time of this review, and it’s one of the best TVs under $500 you can find on the market. I did a LOT of research looking for what I wanted in a TV. I’ve been wanting a nice flatscreen for a while now. I’ve been holding out as and quality has been improving while prices have been dropping. I finally settled on this Panasonic. (more…)

Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0

Monday, October 5th, 2009

The Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 with USB 3.0 SuperSpeed technology USB 3.0 ball has started rolling more that a year ago, and finally, after so much waiting and reading about its SuperSpeed technology that will bless on all of us some day, we finally have it dated for November. In five or six weeks from now, Freecom will put its Hard Drive XS 3.0 on sale. Its an external HDD and the key feature is USB 3.0, of course.

Introducing USB 3.0 to a external hard drive removes the bottleneck effect completely. The port itself will transfer 130MBps, which is bang on what most of home used 10,000rpm hard drives deliver. So, if we think of HDD versus SSD technology face-off in an external storage device realm, it might appear that you are not spoiled for choice and buy a cheaper and bigger hard drive. But will see considerable difference between them in writing speeds. So choose carefully. And, oh yeah, almost forgot, external USB 3.0 SSDs are not yet produced, but one day they will, right?

Back to Freecom Hard Drive XS 3.0 coming in November, it will be available starting with 1TB, 1.5TB and top model will have 2TB on board. Prices start with 119 EUR for 1TB.
