The tanto knife style was first made popular by Cold Steel in the 1980s.Knife enthusiasts have been in love with tanto knives for many years. This is because of their super thick and reinforced tip.In 2007, Cold Steel revived a time proven classic with the G.I. Tanto fixed blade knife.I recently picked up a GI Tanto of my own, and here are my thoughts:What I like:1. Despina Tunberg . The GI Tanto is made with one solid piece of 1055 carbon steel. This steel is known for its toughness and edge holding ability. The handle is wrapped with Para cord. This feature gives the knife a tactical look and feel that you’ve gotta hold to appreciate.2. With a suggested retail value of $30, The GI Tanto is an incredible deal for the money.3. Its hollow ground blade has a thin enough edge to make razor thin slices, but its thick enough to withstand almost any torture test.4. The hand guard is also made from 1055 carbon steel. This gives you a lot of added protection from cutting your fingers on the blade. What I didn’t like:1. The cutting edge was not quite as sharp as most Cold Steel knives. My samurai shark was able to put a razor sharp edge on the GI Tanto almost instantly.2. The cordura sheath could be a little bit more rugged. For $20 I cant complain too much though.Overall:Cold Steel’s GI Tanto is one of the best deals of 2008. For the asking price, you truly cannot go wrong with such a TOUGH knife.

Ka-bar Bull Dozier Knife Review
We all know that the Ka-Bar USMC knife is one of the toughest fixed blades out there. Does their Bull Dozier knife measure up to a time-tested classic? Here are my opinions:
What I like about the knife:
1. The Bull Dozier is made with a full tang that extends all the way to the end of the handle. This feature makes the knife very strong and unlikely to break even under the toughest conditions.
A Few Things About Carving Knives
When it comes to carving, there are a lot of things to know, the first of them being that the carving tools you use are just as special as the carving technique you use. Every wood carver should have a comfortable knife and one that stays intact for a long period of time. Some say that carving knives are just as important as jewels are for women in that you can’t get enough of them at any time.
Benchmade Snipe Folding Knife Review
The Benchmade Snipe folder is becoming a favorite amongst military and emergency personnel alike. With such a practical design and affordable price, there is no reason why it wouldn’t be so well liked. Here are my opinions on the knife:
What I like about the knife:
1. At just under 4 inches (3.97), the modified drop-point style blade is the perfect length for both tactical applications and legal everyday carry by civilians. My knife was shaving sharp out of the box and has had no problem keeping its edge after several weeks of use.
Victorinox Watches aka Swiss Army Watches: Function and Form
Victorinox, the makers of Swiss Army watches, are more popularly known for their world-class knives rather than their outstanding watches. Almost everyone has at least one of those stainless, all-purpose, take-it-anywhere-with-you knives with the distinctive cross-and-shield emblem. Since the creation of the first Swiss Army Knife in 1897 in the small village of Ibach, Victorinox has prided itself in crafting only tools of utmost precision and versatility. This centuries-old tradition has been carried on in the manufacture of Swiss Army watches, which reflect the company’s image osimplicity and class. Garage Door Remote . Other Victorinox products, such as camping gear, travel gear, cutlery, and apparel are also known for their trademark durability, but it’s the Swiss Army watches that you can take with you wherever you go, be it in a plane, underwater, while rappelling of a cliff, or conquering the Amazon forests.4 CategoriesSwiss Army watches are classified into four categories: Active, Classic, Professional, and Pocket/Travel. Make sure that the watch’s dial says, “Swiss Army,” as this is the only company authorized by the Swiss government to carry the Swiss Army name. The Pocket/Travel collection carries handsome pocket watches that are reminiscent of centuries past. There are pocket watches, leash watches, and pack watches whose prices are all within reach of the average traveler. Swiss Army watches cost anywhere between $100 to $1000.To perhaps offer a dress watch for enthusiasts of Swiss Army watches, Victorinox came up with the Alliance Diamond Model for women, classified under the “Classic” series. It has a scratch-resistant hardened sapphire crystal, a genuine Mother-of-Pearl dial with a date window at 3H, a push-button deployment clasp, and 40 full-cut diamonds. Although it’s water-resistant up to 100 meters, I don’t think I’ll be wearing one on my next fun dive lest a trigger fish nips at one of its bezel diamonds.Swiss Army watches are very simple in design, with clean lines, uncomplicated numbers, and straightforward functions. All models are also reasonably priced and always come with a warranty, which assures you of only the strictest quality assurance standards. air conditioning contractor . SOG Arcitech Folding Knife Review
The SOG Arcitech folding knife is attractive enough to be craved by knife collectors all over the world. It is also practical enough to count on as an everyday utility knife. Here are my thoughts on the knife:
What I like about the knife:
1. Crafted from VG-10 San Mai steel, the Arcitech gives you an excellent compromise between edge retention and flexibility. Your inner layer (cutting edge) is made from super tough VG-10 steel, and there is a layer of softer 420 steel laminated on each side. This feature also helps to protect against rust.
Mark It, Own it – Engraved Pocket Watches and More!
Mark It, Own it – Engraved Pocket Watches and More! When you hear the words “one-of-a-kind”, what immediately follows are words “very expensive.” The good that has come out from mass production is that things have gotten cheaper, and for the most part, especially from producers who have and want to keep their good name, quality is not substituted by quantity. The sad thing about it is that well, you are likely to have the exact same thing that everyone else does.Let’s Get PersonalWhat you can do to still benefit from the less expensive yet good products out there to make it your own is to have it engraved. Okay, so putting your name isn’t exactly original, you’ve probably done the same thing during your primary school years, but nobody says it has to be your name engraved on it, anyway.Take for example engraved pocket watches, these can be engraved with just about anything that can fit on it’s covers, from phrases to poems to little commemorative lines. If the engraver is talented enough, these engraved pocket watches can have drawings and more elaborate designs. That’s why engraved pocket watches make good special occasion giveaways like weddings, anniversaries, retirement parties and benchmark birthdays (18, 21, 50). Another reason engraved pocket watches are popular is because a well-made pocket watch, a classic in terms of design, is a future heirloom. The engraving on it will ensure that who ever inherits it remembers who it was from, and what it was for.A Bit Less Sentiment, More FunctionIf you’d like an option on where to put your mark that’s less mushy and more useful than engraved pocket watches, engraved Zippo lighters are the next step. There’s still a little bit of sentiment and nostalgia attached to this WWII trinket, it still mostly looks and works the same way it did when soldiers brought them to the battlefields, and will last as long as their predecessors did. Lighters have a lot of uses apart from lighting tobacco, so don’t let the image of smokers prevent you from owning a part of history.Further down this spectrum of historically useful things, owning a couple of engraved Swiss army knives is not a bad idea. cheap benchtops . And, you’re asking why would anyone need more than one Swiss knife? Doesn’t go against that the idea behind having a multipurpose knife? Surprisingly, the answer to that is “no.” A Swiss knife can perform a multitude of functions, but most of them are made with a specific situation in mind, like fishing, camping or rooting around in your car. If you’ve seen the new and tinie tiny lady’s Swiss knife (it comes in pastel colors) going around these days, you’ll know what that means.Mark It, Own ItNot every one can have something made to their specifications because that takes a lot of time and money. But you can’t let that stop you from making something uniquely yours, even if it’s just an engraving that says “I belong to John.” Now, isn’t that something to think about?
